Round Top..Marburger Farm 5 April 2013

For some time now my efforts to attend this twice a year event have been thwarted.  I had attended in the past once, by bus load, with good friends - but all we remembered were coke bottles...as far as the eye could see.

I knew I wasn't seeing what gets people here in droves, so I consulted a pro, my Austin sister-in-law.  She told me what to see and in what order I should see it.
Now I know what all the buzz is about, loved it.

As a graphic artist I'm always looking for images to add to my collection.
But since I was there for PRESSING EVENTS I wanted to concentrate on adding to our
Majolica collection at the store.

I feel very good about the new purchases, quite unique and diverse in size, shape and color.

But my respect is for the dealers.  In my life I have worked one show/market and this is not easy.  In fact, the work involved is more than enough reason to pass on the whole process, so if you don't like making small talk, facing rejection and singing for your supper...I recommend you simply attend and remain a shopper.
Happy to report the incredible Wedgewood Salmon top shelf center, in turquoise that is rare and prized, made the trip home with me!  Some day I will have a cobalt blue oyster plate to add to my collection too.
Ah, the joy of the hunt!
